Worlds: Top 20 on debut for Caleb Dodds

Aug 10, 2023

Caleb Dodds has recorded a top 20 result in the E-MTB at the 2023 UCI World Championships at Glentress.

The ARA Australian Team member would finish seven seconds behind the eventual winner Switzerlands Joris Ryf.

Despite starting on the last row, Dodds who was competing in his very first world championship had to fight his way through the traffic early on in the six lap race.

“It was pretty quick off the start and a lot of riders bunched on the A lines.

“I started passing people on the back fire road and sent it on the descents on the way down,” the Queenslander said post-race.

At the halfway mark, he would suffer stomach issues at the top of the climb but the silver medallist from the national championships in Thredbo pushed through the pain.

He would finish on the lead lap after six gruelling laps of the XCO course.
