Waratah Masters Cycling Club/WMZ have won the 2025 AusCycling National Club Esports Series after a late comeback that saw the series come down to the wire in a thrilling finale.
With just four points separating Waratah Masters and Vikings Cycling Club after five rounds it all came down to the sixth and final round - the queen stage, Wollongong SRC.
However, the defending champions showed why they have multiple club esports titles to their name, proving too strong for Vikings on Thursday's race claiming their fourth stage win in a row and clinching this year's title.
Second-placed Vikings proved to be strong rivals for the formidable Waratah Masters having taken the early series lead with two wins from two rounds. But Waratah Masters have a proven track record as being strong finishers winning the 2024 title in a similar fashion.
Waratah Masters/WMZ finished at the top of the ladder on 172 points, with Vikings Cycling Club on 164 points.
Rounding out the podium was the ever-consistent Port Adelaide Cycling Club on 140 points.
