Glasgow Daily - August 8

It’s been an exceptional night for the ARA Australian Cycling Team in Glasgow.

At the track, para-cycling gold medals to Alana Forster and Emily Petricola were the highlights of a brilliant session. If you can, watch the last six laps of the C5 women’s scratch race – inspirational stuff!

We also saw Alex Manly and Georgia Baker fight to a brilliant silver in the women’s Madison. That was despite Alex hitting the deck and shredding her skinsuit. Such a determined ride by the girls.

Gordon Allan rounded out our track haul with bronze in his pet event, the C3 kilo. Nice one, Gordo!

Over at the BMX Freestyle Park, our Olympic champion Logan Martin did his thing. He sent down two amazing runs, despite being held up by rain (the Scottish weather has not cooperated this weekend). With his signature front bike flip, Martin secured the silver medal, his fourth career World Championship medal.

Tonight, Australia returns to the roads of Glasgow in the mixed relay team time trial. The BMX Challenge and track racing continues, plus we have Rebecca Henderson, Sam Fox and Cameron Ivory for qualifying in the short-track cross-country events.
