Glasgow Daily - August 6

The ARA Australian Cycling Team was active on four fronts today.

At the track, our sprinters were in action, kicking off their individual sprint and keirin campaigns. Kristina Clonan and our women’s tandem looked particularly assured, qualifying through to tomorrow without a hitch.

Up north at Fort William, our elite downhillers flew down the rainy mountain. Troy Brosnan picked up fifth place and continues his remarkable streak of top-10s at Worlds – that’s 11 years in a row.

The Road program got underway with two hectic junior races in Glasgow. The Aussies produced top-10 results in both, gaining valuable experience at the top level.

It was also supposed to be the first day of competition for BMX Freestyle, but that was cut short due to rain. We’ll pick it up again tomorrow.
