2023 BMX Racing Calendar Released
Nov 9, 2022
AusCycling is excited to announce the 2023 BMX Racing calendar, highlighted by the return of the BMX Racing National Championships to Shepparton, Victoria.
Shepparton previously hosted the National Championships in 2019, the last time the event was unaffected by COVID-19. It will be the fourth time the Goulburn region city has hosted the event.
The 2023 AusCycling BMX Racing National Series kicks off in the nation’s west, with Westside BMX in Perth hosting the opening two rounds of the season in late April.
The competition then heads east in July, with rounds 3 and 4 taking place at Macarthur BMX Club in southwest Sydney, before the 2023 season reaches its conclusion with the final round being held at Shepparton as part of the National Championships week.
The first leg of the Mighty 11s Trans-Tasman Test will also take place in Sydney during rounds 3 and 4 of the 2023 AusCycling BMX National Series, with New Zealand hosting the return leg in October.
AusCycling BMX Sport Manager Luke Madill said it was satisfying to see the BMX Racing calendar return to a sense of normalcy after many years of COVID disruptions.
“From the first state rounds in early February through to the National Championships in November, it’s great to have a full calendar of BMX Racing to look forward to next year,” Madill said.
“I’m really pleased to have the National Series kick off in Western Australia. WA has missed out on many events over the last few years because of the pandemic, and starting the National Series there will also give the WA-based riders a big home soil advantage to start their 2023 campaign.
“The National Championships returning to Shepparton is another highlight. Shepparton BMX Club is a fantastic venue, and I expect a quality field and huge turnout for the event.
“The release of the calendar is always an exciting time in the sport, and I encourage everyone to get their markers out and start highlighting the events where their goals can be achieved in 2023.”
AusCycling thanks those that assisted in developing the 2023 Calendar. Please note that times and dates are subject to change.
Further details on National Series events will be available on the AusCycling National Series page.
