2024 Darren Smith Classic

The Darren Smith Classic returns in August and is celebrating 30 years!

This year the event will take place over two days with a criterium at the Luke Harrop Criterium Circuit, Runaway Bay on Saturday the 3rd of August and the traditional road race at Mt Alford on Sunday the 4th of August.

For the past 30 years, in memory of Olympic cyclist, Darren Smith, who was tragically killed in a cycling accident in 1992, the Gold Coast Cycling Club are proud to host the annual Darren Smith Classic.

$8000 in prize money is up for grabs across the event.
