The CX State Championships return to the Adelaide Superdrome and the Forester's Forest at Gepps Cross for a long course taking in a variety of terrain and features.

Bike Requirements

Bike Requirements (Open Events)
• Any type of bicycle is permitted in the Open Bike Event, and the Little Crossers, U9 and U11 (eg BMX, MTB, Downhill, Road, CX, "Chonklocross: etc).

Bike Requirements (Masters, Expert, U13, U15 & U17)
• Two wheels of the same diameter
• Two brakes
• No additional supports or extensions mounted to the handlebar, stem, fork or frame
• 42mm maximum tyre width - Maximum width by a printed or molded size on the tyre’s sidewall – where there is no printed or molded size or the tyre has been modified this will revert to an actual 42mm width measured from outside to outside
• Drop handlebars mandatory, no maximum width
• Human-powered bicycles only, no power assist
• No metal studs in tyres
• Double triangle frame shape
• Rear wheel must be free to roll forward independently of the drivetrain (no fixed gear bikes)
• Must have a saddle attached securely to the bicycle

Bike Requirements (Elite, U23 and J19)
• 2 wheels of the same diameter between 550 and 700 mm
• Two brakes
• No additional supports or extensions mounted to the handlebar, stem, fork or frame
• Shifting mechanisms/brake levers must not be customised to create an additional support for hand, wrist or forearm
• 33mm maximum tyre width
• Maximum width measured outside to outside of tyre horizontally, tyre must be inflated and in a condition ready to race when measured
• Drop (traditional) handlebars only
• Handlebar maximum width 50cm from widest point to widest point
• Human-powered bicycles only, no power assist
• Power must be transferred from the crankset to the rear wheel by a chain only
• No metal studs in tyres
• Double triangle frame shape
• Rear wheel must be free to roll forward independently of the drivetrain (no fixed gear bikes)
• Must have a saddle attached securely to the bicycle

State Elite Race Eligibility

Any licensed rider born 2004 or before are eligible to contest this championship (whether they hold a Masters or Elite Membership). For any Age Category in a combined START with the Elite race, Elite medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place in the combined race and an additional set of medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Age Category riders in that race. Age categories are based on age at 31 December 2025 and may differ to National Cyclo Cross Series and Championship age categories.

Masters aged riders (born 1995 or before) may contest either Masters Championships or Elite Championships, or BOTH. You will need enter and pay for both races (you will need to login again).

License Requirements

LITTLE CROSSERS
Children aged 2+ are welcome to join in the cyclocross fun and catch the cycling bug at an early age. Balance Bikes, trainer wheels and tricycles are OK too. An AusCycling Race membership is required.

SUPPORT (OPEN BIKE) EVENT All riders must have a permit or license to race. An AusCycling 4 week free trial is available if you have not held a membership in the past 3 years.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS
Riders must hold either an AusCycling Race Off-Road or All Discipline membership to race championship events. Trial memberships and day licenses are NOT permitted. The following State Championship Categories will be awarded subject to entries: J9 (mixed), J11 (mixed), J13, J15, J17, J19, Elite, U23, Masters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. (Masters 1=30-34yo, Master 2=35-39yo and so on based on your age at Dec 31 2025) . Medals will be awarded for each category.
