Expressions of interest: 2024 Santos Tour Down Under

AusCycling is taking expressions of interest for the ARA Australian Cycling Team competing at the 2024 Santos Tour Down Under in January.

Women

Given the event's status as part of the UCI Women’s World Tour, this race will be considered an upper pathway activity. A high priority will be placed on riders who are currently competing in UCI-registered teams, and the team composition will draw on a combination of experienced and emerging professionals.

Factors that will be considered in the selection process include:

• Current professional riders who can perform the role of team leader or team mentor (only if the rider's UCI-registered team is not participating in the race);
• Emerging professional riders within their first years of a UCI contract (only if the rider's UCI-registered team is not participating in the race);
• Ability to perform a team support role;
• Ability to achieve stage results and/or general classification results.

Men

The top-ranked men's team in the 2023 AusCycling National Road Series (NRS) will be awarded the majority of positions in the ARA Australian Cycling Team. Consideration may be given to NRS general classification riders who are not in the top-ranked team.

Professional riders – that is, riders in a UCI ProTeam – will be considered for the role of team leader or team mentors only if their team is not participating in the race.
