    Biography

    Formerly a triathlete and weightlifter,  a 2014 motorbike accident caused left Shippley with left peroneal nerve palsy.

    He first represented Australia in para cycling in the 2019 Para-cycling Track World Championships, classified as a C5 athlete.

    In 2022, he won his first medal at Worlds level, bronze in the Mixed Team Sprint.

    In 2023, he earned silver in Glasgow in the C4 1 km Time Trial.

    The Queenslander earned two more medals, both bronze, at the 2024 World Championships in Rio: again, in the C4 time trial and the Mixed Team Sprint.

    In 2025, Shippley returned to Rio and finally cracked the top step of the podium, winning his maiden world title in the Mixed Team Sprint alongside Gordon Allan, Erin Rowell and Korey Boddington. He also picked up another bronze medal, this time in the C4 individual sprint.

    Shippley holds a Bachelors Degree in Engineering Science from Griffith University.
