Caitlin Ward is a tandem pilot for Jessica Gallagher.
Ward became interested in cycling after participating in the Around the Bay in a Day in 2005 and the Great Victorian Bike Ride in 2006 when she was in the fifth grade at primary school.
Ward has been one of Australia's top sprinters over the last decade, winning national titles in the sprint, keirin and 500m time trial, as well as representing the Australian Cycling Team at the international level.
After missing selection for the Tokyo Olympics, Ward became the sighted pilot for blind Paralympian Jessica Gallagher at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, where they won gold in the tandem sprint and tandem time trial at London's Lee Valley VeloPark.
At the 2023 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships in Glasgow, the pair won silver medals in both the tandem sprint and tandem 1000m time trial.
At the 2024 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships in Rio de Janeiro, they won bronze in the tandem sprint and the tandem 1000m time trial.
Ward made her Paralympic Games debut as a pilot at Paris 2024, where she and Gallagher won the silver medal in the 1000m Time Trial. The duo also placed seventh in the 3000m individual pursuit.
