The opening national round of the 2022 AusCycling BMX season got underway today however due to severe weather conditions, the action was stopped around 5:30 PM local time.
Throughout the opening day, over 500 riders pushed hard around the new, technical Sam Willoughby BMX International Facility in wet conditions.
All riders managed to get in two motos in with half the field getting in three motos before racing was halted due to severe weather conditions over the Adelaide region.
At the end of racing, Izaac Kennedy of Nerang BMX club and Sienna Pal of Terrigal BMX club took out the superclass men’s and women’s fields, not dropping a single moto.
Both riders made most of the better weather in the opening heat, taking out the fastest time of the day in the first moto.
