More than 400 riders blitzed around the world-class Shepparton BMX Club track on Sunday for the opening round of the 2022 AusCycling BMX State Series – Victoria.

Elite men's Australian champion, Izaac Kennedy, has a special relationship with this track, taking out his first elite title at Shepparton in 2019 and the following year, grabbing his second UCI BMX SX World Cup podium at the northern Victoria track.

This unique relationship continued Sunday, with Kennedy not dropping a single moto all day and grabbing the fastest time of the day in the final. Victorian and Olympian Bodi Turner was in fine form all day and was unlucky in the final, coming down just before the last berm. Park Orchards rider Max Cairns and Sydney rider Alex Cameron took out second and third, respectively.

Sienna Pal has continued her strong start to the new year, backing up her first superclass national round victory in Adelaide last month with a flawless performance in the women’s superclass at Shepparton.
