Round 5 results: Club Esports Series

Jul 11, 2025

Waratah Masters/WMZ are inching closer to clinching their third consecutive AusCycling National Club Esports Series title, after taking out maximum points in race 5 putting them into the series lead for the first time this season.

The 2023 and 2024 esports club champions have now won three races in a row and amassed 142 points, with a slender 4-point margin over early series leader Vikings Cycling Club with one more race to go.

Vikings Cycling Club started the series strong winning the first two races before Waratah Masters clawed their way to the top. Vikings need to win race 6 in order to keep their hopes of a series win alive. If the series is tied, the overall winner will be decided on a count back from race points.

Meanwhile, the ever-consistent Port Adelaide Cycling Club look set to seal third overall, with 116 league points after race 5.

The series finale will see racers battle on the Queen Stage, Wollongong SRC.

It will be a true all-rounder’s test with elevation with two decisive climbs and two sprint segments. Expect breakaway heroics, and a hard-fought sprint for the final crown.

Can Waratah Masters/WMZ make it a three-peat? Or will Viking Cycling Club dethrone the two-time champions to take the 2025 crown?

With the overall title on the line, all teams will want to rally their riders and go for maximum  points.
