Pathways: BMX Racing Emerging and Developing categorisation information for 2025/26
Jan 17, 2025
Each year in April/May, BMX racing athletes competing in the elite, under-23 and junior categories become eligible for Emerging and Developing Athlete Categorisation selection through the AusCycling Performance Pathways system.
Athlete categorisation is a system designed to identify, monitor, and prioritise talented riders with the aim of building high-performing ARA Australian Cycling Teams that consistently achieve success at major international events, including the Olympics, Paralympics, World Championships, and Commonwealth Games.
For further details on the athlete categorisation process and associated standards, please refer to the following link: Athlete Categorisation.
To provide riders with the opportunity to meet the necessary selection standards, on the March 29–30 weekend, AusCycling has scheduled a dedicated weekend at Brisbane SX International BMX Centre in the Sleeman Sports Complex. During this event, riders can attend and record their performance times.
Riders interested in participating can register via the link below.
AusCycling's national BMX Racing coaches will be present to assist riders, offer support, and answer any questions related to the sessions.
For additional information or inquiries regarding the categorisation process or this session, please contact Luke Madill at [email protected].
