Josh Jolly, Sabina Košárková win Pump Track Worlds Australian Qualifier at Redhead Beach, Charli Guy secures ticket to Monthey

Josh Jolly and elite women's world champion Sabina Košárková (Czechia) have won the Velosolutions 2025 UCI Pump Track World Championships Australian Qualifier at Redhead Beach, New South Wales.

Jolly (Ballarat Sebastopol Cycling Club) and Košárková each executed a flawless day at Lake Macquarie's Redhead Pump Track after topping qualifying and battling through the bracket rounds.

In the elite men's final, Jolly delivered his fastest time of the day at 10.30 seconds to best Bailey Meares' (RATS Cycling Club Inc) 10.70 ride.

The current junior men's BMX racing world champion looked the goods at the 2024 UCI Pump Track World Championships in Durban, South Africa but was eliminated in the quarterfinals.

The Victorian will now return to the finale seeking redemption on September 5.

"Such a short pump track but a super fun one," he said.

"We're going to Switzerland!"

Košárková laid down a 11.21 in the elite women's final to top Charli Guy's 12.14 (Ashmore BMX Club) and deny her a victory at her first pump track event.

For Guy, the day was already a success via locking in a ticket to the Velosolutions 2025 UCI Pump Track World Championships in Monthey, Switzerland after progressing to the final due to Košárková having already secured a ticket to defend her rainbow jersey at the New Zealand Qualifier in March.

Guy said racing pump track at Redhead Beach was a step out of her comfort zone.

"It was worth it," she said.

"Congrats to Sabina for the win and Sienna for third with some close racing. Sacha Mills, as the last dirt jumper, rode awesome and thanks for her company.

"It's crazy that my second ever pump track race will now be at the world champs in Monthey, Switzerland."

Ethan Aleckson (Greenvalleys Mountain Bike Club) and Sienna Pal (Terrigal BMX Club) rounded out the podiums in third.
