AusCycling has welcomed the strong support shown by member clubs at the 2026 Annual General Meeting held today, Saturday 30 May, with 124 clubs participating in the vote.

The meeting saw members overwhelmingly endorse proposed constitutional amendments, with more than 87 per cent of voting clubs supporting the changes.

The amendments strengthen AusCycling’s governance framework, align the organisation with Australian Sports Commission standards, and help protect critical government funding that supports cycling across Australia.

The constitutional change introduces a gender balance requirement to ensure no single gender makes up more than 50 per cent of the AusCycling Board, Nominations Committee or Finance, Audit & Risk Committee, while maintaining a strong focus on skills, experience and merit in appointments and elections.

AusCycling also confirmed the re-election of Craig Bingham and Lee Brentzell to the Board for an additional three-year term.

AusCycling CEO, Marne Fechner said the outcome reflected the cycling community’s commitment to an equitable and sustainable future for the sport.

“Today’s result demonstrates that member clubs share our commitment to strong governance, modern leadership and long-term sustainability for the sport,” she said.

“We thank our clubs and members for their continued passion, engagement and investment in cycling at every level across the country.”

The AGM outcomes continue AusCycling’s focus on building a united and high-performing sporting organisation that supports participants, clubs, volunteers and athletes across all cycling disciplines.
