The AusCycling Meritorious Medal recognises individuals who have made a significant contribution to cycling in Australia. It honours the volunteers, officials, administrators, coaches, and supporters whose dedication and service often behind the scenes is essential to the health and growth of our sport.
Recipients of the Meritorious Medal are people who have gone above and beyond in service to cycling, and whose efforts deserve formal recognition by AusCycling and the broader community.
Eligibility and criteria
The Meritorious Medal is open to any individual who has made a notable and sustained contribution to cycling in Australia. This may include long-term voluntary service, excellence in officiating or coaching, significant contributions to a club, or other forms of dedicated service. Recipients need not be current members of AusCycling.
Recipients are announced as part of the AusCycling AGM annually. Nominations for the year close annually on March 1.
How to nominate
Anyone can nominate a deserving individual for the Meritorious Medal. Nominations are submitted via the online nomination form and should include a clear description of the nominee's contributions, the duration of their service, and the impact they have had on cycling in their community or at a national level.
All nominations are reviewed by the AusCycling Awards Committee in line with the Awards Policy. The committee meets to assess nominations and make recommendations for approval. Nominations are accepted on an ongoing basis, though recipients are typically recognised at AusCycling's annual awards
