Ride Membership

Ride membership covers all non-competitive activities: gran fondos, charity rides, fun rides, club social rides and group activities. There are also a number of emerging disciplines where competitive opportunities are limited — you’ll only need a Ride membership to participate in these (BMX Freestyle, Pump, Time Trials and eSports).

Your membership is your insurance and participation licence for events. Entry fees apply separately. Ride membership does not include competitive racing or club-organised timed events. If you want to race, you’ll need a Club or Race membership.

Your membership includes two types of cover that work together to protect you every time you ride. 

• 24/7 Personal accident: your protection if you're injured 
• $20m Public liability: your protection for others 

Most cycling insurance policies exclude racing and timed events. The moment you pin on a number, you're uninsured. AusCycling is different. You're covered during club races, state and national events, and all AusCycling-sanctioned competitions across every discipline.

Every ride. Your cover is 24/7 and personal accident cover is worldwide. It doesn’t switch on only when you’re at an organised event. Solo training, a commute to work, a weekend ride with friends, a cycling holiday overseas — you’re protected the whole time.

Yes. AusCycling's 24/7 insurance covers eBike riding, provided your eBike meets Australian standards. Under Australian law, an eBike is classified as a bicycle if it has a maximum power output of 250W and the motor cuts out above 25km/h. If your eBike meets these requirements, you're covered the same way as any other rider — training, commuting, social rides and non-competitive events. 

If your eBike exceeds these limits it may be classified as a motor vehicle, in which case it would need to be registered and insured separately. If you're unsure whether your eBike qualifies, check with your state or territory road authority. 

Ride membership is the right base, covering you for everyday riding and participation events. If you want to race at a club or bronze-level event once or twice a year, you can add an Event Licence: 1-day for $44 or 7-day for $74. You don’t need to upgrade to a full Club or Race membership for one-off racing. Event Licences are not available for state or national-level events.

Yes. Ride membership lets you join one or multiple affiliated AusCycling clubs and participate in their social rides, group activities and non-competitive events. Club add-on charges may apply^. You won’t be eligible for competitive club racing on a Ride membership.

Yes. One Ride membership lets you join as many affiliated AusCycling clubs as you like. Individual clubs may charge their own fees on top of your AusCycling membership — any additional fee will be added to your cart when you select your preferred club, to be paid upfront on checkout (not eligible for family discount).

A 15% discount applies automatically for families of 2 or more members. If you are claiming the discount, you can add your family members in your JustGo account. The discount then applies across all linked AusCycling memberships, regardless of which product each family member holds (Ride, Club or Race). You can choose whether to pay upfront, or in monthly instalments.  

The discount is not applied to the cost of joining your preferred club^{^}. This cost will be paid upfront in your first instalment. 

This replaces the previous AusCycling family membership structure with a simpler approach that you can easily manage.  

Anyone who has never been an AusCycling member can try club-level activities free for four weeks. The trial covers group rides, social rides, club events and activities, including personal accident and public liability insurance. Available once per person, per lifetime. Cannot be used for state or national competitive events.

Yes. You can upgrade from Ride to Club or Race at any time. You pay only the pro-rata price difference for the remaining period. Upgrading unlocks competitive racing access immediately.

Yes. Ride membership is available as an annual payment (from $149) or as a monthly instalment plan ($12.42/month). Both options give you a 12-month membership. The monthly plan simply spreads the cost across the year.

Your old membership is no longer available, so you were moved to the new Ride product when we moved to the JustGo platform in August 2026. When you are due for renewal, you can decide whether to renew onto Ride (recreational riding) or upgrade to Club (local racing) or Race (state and national level).
