Zwift to add to Australia’s summer cycling calendar in 2021

Dec 11, 2020

Zwift, the global online platform revolutionising training for cyclists around the world, is bringing back the Tour De Oz. The three stage tour will help to fill the gap left in Australia’s 2021 summer cycling calendar by the cancellation of major international events such as the Santos Tour Down Under, The Herald Sun Tour, and Cadel’s Great Ocean Road Race.

The Tour De Oz will bring out Australia’s competitive spirits, providing cycling fans with something to look forward to as we kick off 2021’s cycling calendar.

Aussies of all levels will be able to participate and compete across three stages during the in-game weekend on January 16-17, with all three women and men’s races receiving equal streaming time on Zwift Live, and co-streamed on SBS Cycling Central and AusCycling.

The event will be hosted by SBS Tour de France commentator Matthew Keenan and World Champion Track cyclist Katherine Bates alongside well-known VIP guests, with plenty of insider commentary and scoops.

Zwift has been involved with Australia’s summer of cycling since 2017. Its Tour De Oz event will bring together the fierce local racing scene. With the international cycling calendar empty for 2021, this event will allow competitors to join Zwift’s growing online global community.

More information will be revealed in the coming weeks.
