Vale - David Humphreys

AusCycling is saddened by the passing of David Humphreys of NSW.

David competed in Cycling at the Tokyo 1964 Olympic Games in the individual road race at Tokyo 1964, finishing 65th.

David attended North Sydney Technical High School where he participated in a range of sports including gymnastics, rugby union, basketball and swimming.

At the age of 15 he became the Juvenile Road Champion of the Northern Suburbs' Cycling Club. At the age of 16 he became the State Junior Road Racing Champion.

As a member of the State Senior Road Racing Team, he represented New South Wales from 1954-1964 at the Australian Championships.

During his off-season training, he embraced representation of the Mosman Rowing Club, rowing in the men’s Fours.

David continued his cycling and was a competitor in the Australian Veteran Road Cycling Championships.

Our thoughts are with David’s families and friends at this time.
