AusCycling is pleased to welcome Paula Ewing as Senior Project Manager in the Major Events Team.
Paula, who had already been supporting AusCycling's delivery of the 2025 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships on a short-term contract, will now continue on a longer-term contract to the end of 2028.
Paula is an experienced and highly versatile major events professional with a career spanning more than two decades across elite international sport, government, and community event projects. She brings deep expertise in workforce planning, athlete services, and venue operations, with a particular strength in the end-to-end delivery of complex cycling events.
Paula has worked extensively across a suite of major international cycling events including, most recently, at the 2022 UCI Road World Championships in Wollongong as a sport services manager. She worked on the 2012 UCI Track World Championships as an event manager with Cycling Australia; in key roles across multiple Commonwealth Games (Manchester and Melbourne); and had a key stint in Sydney for the 2000 Olympic Games.
Her capability extends across multiple UCI-aligned road and track events, giving her strong fluency in the operational and technical standards required at the highest level of the sport.
Paul has also contributed to the sector from the government side, serving in the Active & Healthy Communities Unit at the City of Greater Bendigo, and working with the Victorian Major Events Company (now Visit Victoria) on the 2016 Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race.
With recent hands-on experience across multiple IRONMAN Group events, and a diverse range of national and grassroots cycling events including the organisation of the Herald Sun Tour, Paula brings not just event delivery expertise but also a strong reputation for adaptability, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership.
Paula will play a key role across a number of key projects in the short, medium and long term including the 2025 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships on the Great Ocean Road, the 2026 UCI BMX Racing World Championships in Brisbane and the 2028 UCI Para-Cycling Road World Championships on the Sunshine Coast.
