AusCycling development coaching course takes the next step

AusCycling’s Development Coaching Course is now open for enrolment. The course has both common content and discipline specific requirements.

What’s it About?

· It is aimed at individuals who want to coach riders competing at State/Territory Level.

· Focuses on supporting coaches to develop and advance their knowledge on development of advancing riders’ technical skills, fitness, and racing skills.

· Provides interested coaches/instructors to upskill in one discipline and in doing so create a platform for cross skilling into other disciplines.

What’s Involved?

· It is completed over three (3) days and is delivered via a combination of a one day online classroom session and two days of face-to-face sessions.

· The online classroom session covers intermediate coaching principles in general including sports science and is common to all disciplines.

· Days two (2) and three (3) cover discipline-specific theory and practical coaching skills and techniques in the discipline of your choice.

When’s It On?

Upcoming Day 1’s are: 27 August, 23 Oct and 6 Nov 2022.

What’s Required?

There are pre-requisites accreditations required to attend the Development Coaching Course and this includes:

a) minimum of 18 years of age

b) a current and accredited AusCycling Foundation Instructor in any discipline for a minimum of one (1) year

c) complete the Sport Integrity Australia Anti-Doping Fundamentals

d) complete the Play By the Rules Child Protection (if not already completed)
