ARA Australian Cycling Team selection criteria update for 2025

AusCycling is finalising a review of the Selection Policy for UCI World Championships and this will delay the release of the Discipline-Specific Selection Criteria for 2025.

While we acknowledge the delay may cause uncertainty for some athletes, we are committed to a thorough review which answers key questions such as whether national champions in under-19 and under-23 individual Olympic events should be considered for automatic selection.

We are aware that multiple cycling disciplines have key selection events taking place in the early months of 2025, and trust the following information will help athletes plan their schedules.

How do I know what events to attend so I can be considered for selection?

To ensure you are aware of key selection events that may take place during the review period (December 2024 – March 2025), please refer to the list of selection events below, listed by discipline.

While this is not an exhaustive list of events that will be taken into consideration for 2025 selections, it recommends those events which athletes should seek to attend during the review period.

When the discipline-specific selection criteria are released in March 2025, they will provide further detail on the performance time period, performance standards and the full list of all selection events that will be considered.

The following selection events for UCI World Championships are occurring while the overarching selection policy is under review; these events will be viewed favorably as part of the selection process. Additional events may be included in the 2025 discipline-specific selection criteria when they are released. For disciplines with mandatory events, those events have been included. These events are not listed in order of priority.
