Membership Relaunch - Clubs

Coming August 2026
Memberships shaped by riders, for riders.
AusCycling's membership products and platform are changing for the better. This is a significant step towards what AusCycling membership should be: the no-brainer choice for every rider who wants to participate in the sport they love - at whatever level they choose.
Your members' current memberships remain active until their next renewal date. AusCycling handles all member communications — we'll make sure your club has everything it needs to support them.
Product changes informed by rigorous research
1900+ Rider responses from current, lapsed & prospective members
30+ in-depth interviews with current, lapsed and prospective members
All Internal AusCycling groups and committees formally consulted at each stage of the process
3 Core paid membership products, built around how riders ride
An updated membership for how riders actually ride.
Simpler products
Three products: Ride, Club and Race. Each built around a clear level of participation. No more discipline-specific categories, because the cost of servicing membership is broadly the same across disciplines, and cross-discipline participation is on the rise.
A product built for club racing
Club membership is for riders who want to compete at club and inter-club level without the cost of full state and national access. The members who show up every fortnight, race locally, and are the lifeblood of your club. They now have a product that reflects exactly how they participate.
One membership across all disciplines
BMX, CX, eSports, gravel, MTB, para, road, track: one membership covers them all. Cross-discipline participation is growing, and the old structure made that unnecessarily complicated. This removes the friction, for members and for clubs managing multi-discipline programs.

The average amount AusCycling’s insurance program pays in personal accident claims every month
Personal Accident Claims Breakdown
Loss of Income - 39%, Non-Medicare Medical Expenses - 24%, Other - 37%
82% of public liability claims
are incurred by members directly, not clubs
Three things to tell your members
“AusCycling is the only cycling insurance policy that includes racing entirely. It’s 24/7 Cover — training, commuting, group rides AND racing, if that’s what you want.”
"Your cover isn't just for AusCycling events — which is good because around 40% of personal accident claims come from social or recreational riding – outside of sanctioned events."
"The $20m in public liability cover is what lets our club run events and support our volunteers. Without AusCycling’s insurance program, the sport as we know it couldn’t operate.”
What the personal accident cover includes
Personal accident insurance helps cover the costs Medicare doesn't pay when a member is injured cycling:
- Physiotherapy, chiro and osteo treatment
- Private hospital accommodation
- MRI and CT scans (when not Medicare-covered)
AusCycling 24/7 insurance also helps with:
- Medical equipment — boots, braces and slings
- Trauma counselling
- Family travel and accommodation if hospitalised away from home
- Weekly income support if unable to work due to cycling injury
Understanding the value of insurance
We know insurance can feel like a barrier, particularly when recruiting new riders or families. Here's some insight, directly from our CEO, to help our clubs understand important context around our pricing model and environment.
Marne Fechner, CEO:
"Insurance makes up 65% of the membership fee. The public liability component is the largest cost, and it's essential; it's what allows clubs to run events and support volunteers.
The premium increased significantly in 2023 due to a high number of public liability claims, many of which date back to 2016, pre AusCycling, and remain open. and claims continue at that level. We have an insurance working group with club input that ensures the product meets the requirements of the club community."
What this means for your members – at launch and beyond
AusCycling will handle all member communications. Here's what's happening behind the scenes, and what your club needs to know.
Before Go-Live
Nothing changes
Members' current memberships remain fully active. No action required from members until launch.
At Go-Live
Every member transitions automatically
Every existing member is automatically moved to their closest equivalent new product at their current level of access or higher. Their membership stays active until their next renewal. The product name may change, but benefits and cover do not.
i.e. Race Off Road members move to Race. Lifestyle members move to Ride. Regional members move to Race. All members receive personalised instructions from AusCycling before their renewal.
Members will receive an email with the simple instructions to activate their JustGo account and download their replacement digital membership card.
At Renewal
Members choose and set up
At renewal, members log into JustGo, select their preferred product, and add payment details. Members who don't complete this at renewal will lapse.
AusCycling will send a series of reminders prior to renewal and after expiry.
Clubs now have visibility of lapsed members.
The marketing toolkit will give you templates to prompt your members to renew, if you choose.
Five steps. With AusCycling support along every step of the way.
The club setup in JustGo is straightforward. Member Services staff are available throughout for any club that needs direct support.
Step 1 - Administrator setup
Executive committee members will be imported automatically. If you require additional administrators to complete these migration steps, you will need to add them to your JustGo account first.
Step 2 - Before Go-Live - Know Your Customer (KYC) verification
Required by the new banking provider before any membership transactions can be processed. Even if completed in TidyHQ, Australian regulations require KYC separately for each payment provider.
⚠ Clubs cannot process any membership transactions until KYC is complete.
Step 3 - Before Go-Live - Membership setup
Confirm your club's membership pricing and create any additional membership types linked to AusCycling products.
Step 4 - Club profile & branding
Update your club information and branding. Add details to support filtering in the AusCycling club finder, and make it easier for people to find you!
Step 5 - Post Go-Live - Data Review
After we’ve migrated to JustGo, you can review and validate your existing membership data.
Key Dates
- w/c 4 May - Nominate your migration lead (club president contacted by default if not received)
- w/c 13 July - Club training opens, JustGo access begins. Two weeks to complete key setup steps.
- w/c 3 August - Member platform migration begins.
Deadline: Know Your Customer verification & Membership product set-up must be completed to sell memberships at your club.
Everything your club needs at each stage.

Frequently asked questions.
Will my members still be covered when the new platform goes live?
Yes. Every member carries over automatically; their current benefits and insurance coverage remain fully active until their next renewal date. The name of their membership may change, but their access and cover do not.
What do my members need to do - and when?
At launch(w/c 3 August), every member will receive an email from AusCycling Membership asking them to activate their account in JustGo. In a few simple steps, they'll set a password, log in, and download their new digital membership card.
At their next renewal, all members will receive a reminder from JustGo to help them choose the right product from Ride, Club or Race. They'll need confirm their preferred membership and add payment details in JustGo to stay active. Members who don't complete this step at renewal will lapse.
Your club can help by reminding members of the move away from TidyHQ and encouraging them to activate their JustGo account.
Will there be downtime during the transition?
Yes, there is a 3-day blackout period immediately before launch. During this window, no membership or event licence transactions can be processed. The blackout has been scheduled mid-week to minimise disruption to club events. If you think this affects your club, contact Member Services as soon as possible.
Will training be provided for administrators?
Yes. Training sessions cover the five key steps to getting your club active on JustGo, plus how to use the platform day-to-day. Resources available to clubs include:
- Full recording of the training session
- Short video instructions for key tasks within JustGo
- A marketing toolkit with copy, social assets and email templates to promote membership products to members
- Direct support from the Member Services team throughout the transition
How do we explain AusCycling Club vs Race simply?
AusCycling Club membership is for members who want to participate in club and inter-club level races. Race is for members competing at state, national or UCI level. A useful rule of thumb: if your member's highest level of racing is your club's own race program, AusCycling Club is the right product. If they're heading to a state series or state championships and above, they need Race. Members can upgrade from Club to Race at any time, paying only the pro-rata difference.
Note: There are a limited number of emerging disciplines where competitive event opportunities are limited (such as BMX Freestyle and Time Trials). In these instances, an AusCycling Club membership is acceptable for entry
What happens to Race Off Road members?
Race Off Road members will move to the new Race membership at launch, with coverage and benefits remaining active until their next renewal. At renewal, they'll choose between Club (if racing club or inter-club level events) or Race (if racing state or national level events).
AusCycling will send targeted communications to Race Off Road members ahead of launch and again at renewal.
How do family memberships work?
A 15% discount applies automatically across any AusCycling product for families of 2 or more members linked in JustGo. The discount does not apply to club add-on fees, which go directly to clubs. Under 13 riders receive Race membership automatically at $99/year and are eligible for the family discount.
Are event licences changing?
Prices stay the same: 1-Day ($44) and 7-Day ($74). The key improvement: event licenses can now be purchased in advance in JustGo with a nominated start date, meaning they're validated through event entry systems before race day. This removes a common friction point on the day.
How can we attract more members to our club?
The most effective thing any club can do is make it easy for someone to show up for the first time — and feel like they belong when they do.
- Come & try sessions
- Regular, visible open rides or beginner sessions
- Promote Free Trials & Upcoming sessions through your local community, bike shops, schools and social media
- Encourage existing members to bring someone along — this is one of your most powerful tools
Get discovered: A complete and up-to-date club profile in JustGo means riders in your area can find you through the club finder — one of the primary ways prospective members discover a club. Keep your profile current as part of your five setup steps before launch.
Keep your event calendar active: Visible events give riders a reason to show up before they've committed to membership. From launch, clubs can submit events directly through JustGo — and as the platform develops, these will feed into the AusCycling events calendar, putting your program in front of a much wider audience of riders actively looking for something to ride or race.
Follow up personally: After someone attends a session or event, a personal invitation from someone they've met is what turns a first visit into a membership. Don't rely on automated emails alone.
Club marketing toolkit: (available from 1 June) Ready-to-use assets to support all of the above — social media content, email templates, membership explainers, lapsed member re-engagement copy, and materials to help clubs communicate the new products clearly.
Can non-members join social or group rides?
Non-members can participate in non-competitive social rides that aren't sanctioned activities, at your club's discretion. However, non-members are not covered by AusCycling insurance, which creates a liability risk for your club.
Ride membership at $149/year is designed for exactly this cohort; recreational riders who want to ride socially with a club, without racing. Encouraging these riders to join is a straightforward way to grow numbers and protect everyone on the ride.
What if someone wants to downgrade?
Members cannot downgrade within an active membership period. At renewal, members can choose a different product with a new 12-month commitment.
Clubs are how this sport grows. We're here to support that.
This is the most significant change to AusCycling membership in years, and the first step in a longer journey. We're committed to supporting every club through the transition. If you have questions at any point before, during or after launch, the Member Services team is here.
