Troy Brosnan hails from Adelaide, South Australia and took up downhill riding at the age of 13.
He was picked up by the Monster Energy/Specialized team to race on the World Cup Series circuit which meant he left school and his parents to race overseas for six months.
Troy made a statement in his first year on the World Cup circuit by winning the World Cup Junior Overall title.
In 2010 he claimed his first world championship title at the famed Mont Sainte Anne course in Canada and would repeat the performance a year later in Champery, France.
He has also won two bronze medals in 2014 and as recent as 2021 with a silver in 2020 at MSA.
The South Australian won his very first World Cup at Fort William in Scotland in 2014 and has enjoyed victory a further six times in his career.
Troy is known as one of the most consistent riders in the World Cup having amassed 61 podiums since he began racing.
He is also a 10-time national downhill champion.
He is currently part of the Canyon Factory Collective Team which he joined in 2018.
