Teya Rufus

Teya Rufus was already winning trophies on the BMX track at the age of three. A keen member of Maryborough BMX Club since 2010, she has always dreamed of becoming a champion in her sport.

Now, she’s living out that dream.

2022 and 2023 saw Rufus building up her status as one of Australia’s brightest young talents, winning Superclass National Series rounds and representing Australia at the UCI BMX Racing World Championships as a first-year junior in Glasgow.

2024 was Rufus’ breakout year, headlined by becoming junior world champion in Rock Hill and taking home the rainbow jersey.

That same year, Rufus also captured the overall U23 UCI BMX Racing World Cup title after winning four World Cup rounds during a remarkable international campaign.

Rufus made the jump straight to elite in 2025 and made her elite UCI BMX Racing World Championships debut in Copenhagen.

The teenager delivered above expectations in Denmark, qualifying for the final and finishing fifth.

Back home, she has claimed back-to-back Superclass national titles and the Superclass National Series crown in 2025.
