Jesse Asmus

Jesse Asmus started his career in BMX racing at the age of three, following in his brother’s footsteps, at Nerang BMX Club on the Gold Coast.

Progressing his love for the sport from club racing to state level, and then onwards to national and international events, he’s been training and working towards a dream his whole life.  

Asmus had a breakthough 2023 season, winning the AusCycling BMX Racing National Series Superclass title, claiming the Oceania U23 crown and placing 4^th in U23 at the UCI BMX Racing World Championships in Glasgow.

In 2024, Asmus won first U23 UCI BMX Racing World Cup at home in Brisbane and picked up a second podium in Tulsa to end the year third overall.

His 2025 World Cup season started positively, scoring two podiums across the opening weekend in Sarrians before a crash in Papendal derailed his season.

He recovered in time to race at the 2025 UCI BMX Racing World Championships in Copenhagen, where he finished fourth for the second time as an U23. Asmus’ rookie elite season in 2026 has proved to be fruitful, with the rising star claiming three titles in the opening half of the year.

In Brisbane, Asmus won the Oceania elite crown. In Shepparton at the GWM BMX Racing National Championships, he won the elite national title and Superclass title.

Jesse Asmus has built a reputation for his exceptional race craft, skill and composure, and is an exciting prospect in the ARA Australian Cycling Team.
