AusCycling Sessions, Open, Coach Led, Come & Try and Accreditation
Track cycling is for everyone and is a great fitness activity that’s off the road in a safe, controlled environment.
AusCycling offer ‘Come & Try’ sessions for new track riders weekly on a Saturday morning, which is the first step to becoming a regular track user for both fitness, training and racing! Once you’ve successfully completed the Come & Try and feel confident on the track, you’ll be able to proceed through to our Accreditation Program. We suggest you do the two C&T on consecutive weeks to ensure continuity.
AusCycling runs weekly skill-based track sessions each Thursday from 5.00pm – 7.00pm.
The sessions are coach led by Balmoral Cycling Club Coaches.
These sessions take place on the outdoor velodrome at Sleeman Sports Centre, Chandler.
The first 3 sessions includes track bike hire. After these free session’s riders are required to join a club and if required hire a bike from the club.
All you need is closed in shoes, tighter fitting clothing, water bottle and towel.
You can bring your own bike helmet as long as the Australia Standards Sticker is visible inside.
As this is an outdoor track, sessions may be cancelled due to weather, please check Balmoral Cycling Club's Facebook page before leaving for the session on Thursday afternoon.
Our Open Track Training sessions are available to accredited riders of the Anna Meares Velodrome who wish to complete their training in an organised format. These sessions are run by experienced AusCycling coaches but riders have the option of bringing their own training program as well!
PLEASE NOTE: Starting gates are not used during these sessions. 24 hours notice is required to change or cancel bookings if riders want to receive a refund.
