National Cup heads to The Alice this Easter

“Easter in Alice” is stage-race which will take over the heart of Australia from Friday 2 April - Monday 5 April 2021.

This year’s race is the 10th event as part of the2021 AusCycling MTB National Cup calendar.

The course will feature new technical and flow trails that have never been included in the event.

A field of 100 riders will cover a total of 110km over the three-day race format, with Stage 1 the longest in the saddle at 44.1kms.

Stage 2 will be more than 30km long, with four laps of the course to be completed by competitors.

Stage three will see riders face the famous Undoolya Hill Climb and while it’s only 1.15km it’s a grind to the top with an average gradient of 4.7%. Local Henry Hackett holds the quickest time for the climb with a 3mins 09secs.

It’s the fifth year the local club Central Australia Rough Riders have hosted the event.

About the National Cup

The 2021 AusCycling MTB National Cup is a national competition which starts on January 1 and concludes on December 31.

The National Cup is designed to encourage participation and recognise individual rider achievements across multiple disciplines.
