AusCycling incorporating the legacy organisations of BMXA, Cycling Australia and Mountain Bike Australia proudly offer our members the opportunity to meet with Sara Carrigan Olympic gold medallist via our ZOOM Webinar platform on Thursday 20th May 2021 1800hrs AEST to learn about being a road cycling Ride Leader.

The Ride Leader (Road) course provides persons who find themselves leading the decision making in daily rides with a set of ground rules and approaches to dealing with everyday bunch situations.
The remit of a Ride Leader is the ability to lead a group of up to 30 adults, 15 adolescents, or 10 children in planned, risk managed and documented low traffic riding environments.

This is a 1 x 3 hour session.

The learner will attend the webinar and then undertake a short, self directed assignment for assessment post course.  The assignment will be completed and saved as a PDF and forwarded to [email protected] within 60 days post course for marking and final accreditation. The Ride Leader certificate will be emailed to the learner after final accreditation is completed.

Prerequisite for insurance: AusCycling/BMXA/CA/MTBA current and paid up membership

The following are required to gain full accreditation and insurance

  • First Aid (HLTAID003 or HLTAID011)
  • WWCC relative to your State or Territory legislation

*Please note that the Ride Leader endorsement is not a coaching qualification thus physiology based training is not a part of the Ride Leader remit.
