Instructor / Coach Education
The AusCycling Development Coach course is the first step in becoming a Coach in your preferred discipline of cycling. The complete course is run over three (3) individual days.
Day 1 Date and Time: Sunday 23 October 2022 | 9am to 5pm
Venue: Virtual (using Microsoft Teams)
Registration Closes: 16 October 2022 at 11.59pm or before if places fill. There are 10 places available for Day 1, 2 and 3 and 5 places available to attend Day 1 only.
Cost: The full cost of attending the Development Coach course is $750 AUD payable in advance through the registration link.
The cost of attending Day 1 only is $300.
Pre-Requisites:
1) Must be at least 18 years of age
2) Must be a current accredited AusCycling Foundation Instructor in any discipline for a minimum of 1 year (or BMXA Club Coach, MTBA Level 0 Skills Instructor, CA CCC).
3) Must be a member of AusCycling | minimum Non-riding member
Participants must also complete (or have completed and provided their certifciates of completion to AusCycling):
4) Sport Integrity Australia Anti-Doping Fundamentals
5) Play by the Rules Child Protection and Safeguarding
Course Details
Day one (1) of the course includes the theory and sciences of coaching, comprises:
Day 1 theory is the first component of the full Development Coach course and must be attended prior to registering for the next components of Day two (2) and Day three (3) which include coaching/instructing practical skills at the Development level.
Day 2 and 3
Development Skills Coaching courses (Days 2 and 3) are held in most capital cities on a rotational three (3) to six (6) month basis or on demand if number of attendees at Day 1 sessions require.
Development Instructor to Coach for Mountain Bike and Road Cycling
If you chose Mountain Biking or Road Cycling as your endorsed Development qualification you will be able to attend a Development Instructor course and once successfully completed you will be able to work as a Development Instructor in Mountain Bike or Road Cycling until you complete your Development Coach workbook and assignments.
Completion Time
You have six (6) months from commencing the Development Coach course to submit your work for evaluation. Upon successful completion you will be awarded the AusCycling Development Coach qualification with the discipline endorsement of your choice, subject to successful completion of the practical assessments aligned to days two (2) and three (3) in the selec the discipline.
