The Community Instructor course is the entry point to the AusCycling Coach and Instructor Pathway. It provides participants with an underpinning knowledge of cycling and it's disciplines, the roles and responsibilities of an AusCycling Instructor, and a range of fundamental instruction skills.
This course is fully delivered through e-learning and after completion of the course the participant is accredited to assist coaches and instructors across the AusCycling disciplines of BMX, MTB, CX, Road and Track.
The AusCycling Community Instructor offers a course extension, called Mini Wheelers, which includes activities for instructing riders who are learning to ride using a balance bike. The Mini Wheeler extension is at no cost once the Community Instructor accreditation has been completed and is suitable for parents and junior riders from 14yrs.
Other requirements for accreditation are:
- Valid Working with Children Check (Relative to State or Territory legislation)
- Current Deliver First Aid certificate (HLTAID003 or HLTAID011)
- Play by the Rules (Child protection online course)
